The group is run by two trained person-centered counsellors who both work in the Midlands; Claire and LJ.
Claire and LJ met at a conference in 2015 and discovered that we lived not far from each other, had a lot in common and got on well. At the conference, we talked a lot about what was available for us professionally in the area, and lamented the fact that there was no easily-accessible person-centered group. Very quickly we realised that the way to fix this was to create such a group.
We approached BAPCA, who provide funding and support for local groups, to see if they would support a Coventry local group, and then we created this group, which is a ‘BAPCA local group’.
